English Hook – Caught in a sea storm! Role play!
Today, the children came in from lunch to find the classroom in disarray and found themselves in a huge, terrifying sea storm! They had to get themselves on a raft, help their friends and fight their way through the storm! They then had the option to get themselves to either a desert island with vegetation, or a rocky island with water. They also had the opportunity to decide on 3 important items they would take with them and explain their reasons why. Once at they fought their way through the storm to their chosen island, they had to build themselves a shelter. We then discussed the 5 senses with adventurous vocabulary. This also links with our topic for this term of ‘Around the world’ and our new class novel we are excited to start reading, Kensuke’s Kingdom!
