Autumn Term Topic – All About Me
This term, we will be exploring who we are, what makes us special and the people and places that are important to us through our topic, All About Me.
In Literacy, we will enjoy a range of traditional tales, developing our speaking, listening, reading and storytelling skills.
In Humanities, we will learn more about ourselves, our families and our local community, exploring what makes our community special.
In Art, we will create self-portraits and explore the work of Pablo Picasso, using his ideas and style to inspire our own artwork.
We will also spend lots of time exploring and learning outdoors, developing our curiosity as we investigate the natural world around us. Throughout the topic, we will celebrate what makes each of us unique, while developing a sense of belonging to our families, school and wider community.
All the children are offered a Healthy Snack in the morning along with their milk. Please pay 20p per day via School Gateway.
Children need to bring in their reading books daily and spelling tests are on a Thursday. PE for Reception and Year 1 is on a Wednesday afternoon. Children to come in their PE Kit, black shorts or jogging bottoms/leggings, white t-shirt and school jumper or cardigan. Black pumps or trainers.
We offer Early Entitlement Nursery in January and April each year for children who turn 3 years of age between September and December and January and Easter.
We hold open afternoons/evenings twice a year and welcome prospective parents to come and meet the staff and see our wonderful small school for yourselves.
